“DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTELLIGENT SYSTEM OF EPIDEMIOLOGY SURVEILLANCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH MONITORING BASED ON WASTEWATER EPIDEMIOLOGY”

The purpose of the specific program is the substantial upgrading of the infrastructure and knowledge of the Ministry of Health in matters of public health policy (COVID-19 pandemic, viruses, vaccination policy, antimicrobial resistance and antibiotics, pharmaceutical policy and policy on drugs and addictions) – and especially the General Secretariat of Public Health – for the benefit of the health system (through preventive interventions) and ultimately the citizen. This purpose can be fulfilled through the cooperation of the contracting parties, the research process, specialized knowledge, and the implementation of innovative actions.

More specifically, a laboratory network will be developed for epidemiological surveillance and a digital platform with decision-making tools and measures, regarding:
Prevention to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic
Prevention to detect the spread of hepatitis A and E in populations – goals and planning of targeted vaccination
Prevention to avoid the spread of influenza viruses and its simultaneous development in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic
Prevention of the development of further microbial resistance to specific antibiotics with the aim of adjusting the administration of antibiotics and avoiding the further spread of microbial resistance which is a basis for the development of epidemic.
Prevention for the use (and over-prescription and over-consumption) of drugs and documentation for the development of pharmaceutical policy in the areas of mental health, cardiovascular disease, and other diseases.
Prevention of drug proliferation and formulation of a specific drug policy (including new psychotropic substances)
